2006 Carolina's Order of the Arrow Indian Seminar
Driving Directions
The Carolina's O.A. Indian Seminar is held on the campus of Mitchell Community College Continuing
Education Center, 701 West Front Street, Statesville, North Carolina 28677.
Please be aware that the Continuing Education Center is nowhere near the main
campus of Mitchell Community College. Statesville, North Carolina
is located at the intersection of Interstate 77 (north-south from Ohio,
West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina to Columbia, South Carolina) and
Interstate 40 (east-west from North Carolina through Tennessee all the
way to California).
The Continuing Education
Center is located in an old Junior High School in the western part of Statesville.
Unfortunately, it is several blocks off of the interstates.
There is heavy road construction in Charlotte along Interstates 77 and 85. Because of this, we strongly recommend avoiding the Charlotte area, especially the I-77 and 85 interchanges. Those traveling up I-85 from the southwest should exit on to US 321 in Gastonia and head north, and then pick up I-40 eastbound in Hickory. As for those traveling up I-77 from South Carolina, we will try to find a bypass around Charlotte for you. Friday afternoon traffic from Charlotte to Statesville on I-77 is a parking lot!
